Happy Mother’s Day!!!
To all the mamas and those celebrating mamas – want to say THANK YOU.
A little reminder for you today, Isaiah 40:11 “He tends His flock like a shepherd. He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young.”
Mamas, He has your babies in His arms. He carries them so close; they can hear the beating of His heart. Monday after Easter, Niomi comes home from school excited. “Jesus came to me,” she says. “What,” was my response? Here’s the story. At her dad’s house, he has been forcing her to stay in her room which scares her, but he is getting married in a few months, and he is teaching her she can no longer retreat to his bed when scared.
The night of Easter Sunday, Niomi had a series of bad dreams that woke her up and made her run into her father’s room. Each time he placed her back in her bed with a prayer. Her last dream, Jesus speaking to her. Here’s what my little girl tells me He told her. “I will make you brave and courageous. I have an angel with you.”
I asked her a few questions. “Did you see His face?”
“No,” she replied. Only the side and there was a bright light around it, so it was hard to see. It reminded me of the story of Moses.”
“How did your room feel after?”
“Very quiet. I couldn’t hear anything. Just quiet.”
“How did you sleep after?”
“Very good!”
I wasn’t there. I wasn’t there to hold Niomi and tell her it would be ok. I wasn’t there to rebuke the enemy for myself off her mind. I wasn’t there to force her dad to allow her just one night in his bed. I wasn’t there! Someone way better than me showed up on the scene. Jesus Himself! He fathered and mothered her at this moment. He came off His throne, took a trip from heaven, and showed up just for Niomi. What an AMAZING God! He carries them close to His heart.
Mom’s this Mother’s Day; I pray you know just how much Jesus loves you and your little ones. He carries them in His arms, and He tends to them like a shepherd overseeing His flock. As for you, He GENTLY leads you. He guides us, directs us, and shows us how to mother the gifts He has given us.
Father, I pray we would hear your directions, heed to your guidance, and have eyes with Your vision on how best to be the mom you have called us to be for our children. You show us what motherhood looks like and how to be Your best for our kids. In Jesus name, we pray, Amen!
