Events Not Yet Seen

July 11, 2018

I was reminded about my last post while listening to my pastor preach from Hebrews 11:7. The amplified version states this verse as “By faith [with confidence in God and His word] Noah, being warned by God about events not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his family.” The title of the message was Faith to Move Forward: Building for God.

In the midst of the sermon, my mind opened to the massive faith Noah had. In Sunday school we here the story of Noah and the two of every kind of animals and walking away understanding the importance of obeying God. As children, we recognized that obedience saved Noah, his family, and the entire universe.

His willingness to say yes to building something that had never been crafted before in preparation of rain that had never been seen before saved us all. As adults, Noah’s story reiterates the never considered. It emphasizes the need for our minds to go above and beyond our capacity to think and for our eyes to see past our imaginations. Listen, Noah put hammer to nail to create a larger than life ark when he had no clue, not even a similar object to aid him in understanding what an ark was. He did this to prepare for water coming out of a sky that he only knew to be dry.

Each of us is being asked to build something we are utterly clueless about. God has asked us to grab the hammer and pick up the nails, and we are just looking up to the heaven dumfounded. That’s a’right. I dare you to begin hammering with confusion written all over your face.

Brick-by-brick become a carpenter for the Lord and follow the blueprints. He is the architecture and master planner who makes zero mistakes. Even when you have no examples to pull from to assist you with the Father’s ask, build anyways.

Your building is your preparation for the unseen and the unknown. I want God to flood my life. Come like a rushing flood sweet Jesus! In the good and the bad. As long as I am building with You and according to You, I will rise above waters!

Like Noah, say yes to the events not yet seen.

Sincerely,

Nona
